WHY NOT US?
The Pru was lit up tonight in honor of the B's -- it's 2004 all over again! Let's hope for the same outcome!
So how about those classy
So how about those classy Boston fans chanting "flopper" and "Lets Go Bruins" while a Canucks player lies hurt on the ice and is helped off...
Yes that was terrible, no
Yes that was terrible, no respect shown by the fans or the team, disgusting. And the cheers ddidn't start until after he had been down like 30 seconds so they knew he wasn't faking at that point. I'm a Bruins fan but hearing that reaction made me sick.
"I'm a Bruins fan, but"
LETS GO SOCKPUPPETS! (Clap, Clap, ClapClap Clap)
Classy?
Is that what passes as a burn by Nucks fans?
Oooh ... who you callin classy?
Cheese-eating Nucker!
Please...
The Canucks had received multiple penalties for embellishment (that would be acting, in layman's terms) and received another one later on during last night's contest. It was a natural reaction for the fans to think that the injury might have been another flop.
Actually, there was plenty of good sportsmanship on display last night. As cameras panned the crowd during the singing of the anthems, there were quite a few folks in Bruin jerseys singing "O, Canada", for instance.

I knew that would be the
I knew that would be the defense, that because they flopped before the fans assumed he was faking it. But like the other commenter pointed out, they didn't start cheering it until he had already been down for 30 seconds. Generally if you're trying to sell a penalty call you don't continue to lie there and make the game stop and the trainer come out. If the refs don't call the penalty after a few seconds you get up.
And what do you mean is that what passes as a burn? I'm just pointing out that it happened. When was the last time you saw fans cheer a player getting injured on a national stage? It's disgraceful and you know if it happened in Vancouver there'd be outrage all over Boston.
That's all well and good, and
That's all well and good, and I respect your point, but it doesn't take away from the fact that the Canucks players themselves have acted with highly contemptible behavior that has snowballed this entire series. Whatever the behavior of certain fans may be, there's a separation between that and the comportment of the actual players, and I can still be proud of the way my hometown team has carried themselves in most every case. Since I don't identify with those fans, I and many like me have nothing to be ashamed of. From an objective standpoint, I'd doubt the same can be said of Vancouver fans.
What do you want, tears?

To quote the late FBI Special Agent H. Paul Rico for the first and last time in my life, "What do you want, tears?"
But, I think we can all agree with one thing
Luongo is a scumbag.
