Six degrees of sunset over the Tobin Bridge

Seems appropriate to tell this story now:

A few years ago while I was at Northeastern a friend of mine worked as an RA, and had acquired some free passes to the Harrison Ford movie Firewall. We both thought the movie looked shitty but said eh, what the hell let's just head over. We show up and it turns out we're actually at a press screening for the movie, as it was about a week before it actually came out. And they tell us there'll be a Q&A afterwards.

Movie rolls, it sucks, and some douchy DJ from Jam'n 94.5 comes out and announces that, holy shit, Harrison Ford is in attendance. Ford comes out, waves, crowd applauds (it was a press screening but only about 20-25 reviewers were there; the rest was me & my friend, and about 100 Emerson kids who I guess had a similar inside track to get the passes). The DJ asks Ford about 10 questions about absolutely nothing and then says he'll take questions from the audience.

I shoot my hand up and get called on first. I just go "Mr. Ford, can I shake your hand?" Crowd laughs and he goes "oh thank god I thought you were gonna ask something about Indy 4". I shake his hand, it's awesome, other questions happen, we leave.

This was at the Boston Common Loews so we're now on Tremont St standing in front of the theater, and my friend is flipping out at the fact that I just shook Harrison Ford's hand. As he's saying something, I look over and see a guy walk by. I kinda hit my friend and go "hey Nick... who... who does that look like? Is that...

Kevin Bacon?"

Yep. Sure was. Kevin Bacon just randomly walking by, unrelated to the screening we had just been at. So we run up to him, and it turns out he is wasted. He goes "ohhhh heyyyy guys whassuuup?" It was awesome, and obviously I just had one question for him too - "can I shake your hand?"

So there we go, within half an hour of one another I shook hands with Harrison Ford and a drunk Kevin Bacon. I've been one degree for years

They don't call it golden hour for nothing.
