Use what little common sense you have. The train always wins.

I was on that train, freaking out because I was pretty sure I was going to miss my commuter rail connection. When the conductor said that, it was such a surreal moment, I actually stared up at the speaker for a few seconds before I lunged out the door. And, somehow, I made my train! ;-)

I was on the green line coming back from the Bruins game last night and a platform attendant (supervisor/customer service?)warns a young college age kid to stay back from the line. Apparently the kid said something or made a face because as the attendant stepped onto my train he turns to the kid and says: "Hey, I don't really care. it's your life. I'm just not in the mood to do any paperwork tonight." With that the door closed and I thought that was even better than the ever classic man v. train, train always wins comment.

It always amazes me how close some people stand to the train.

...whaa? All this dip shoe has to do is use one hand to twist a control (dead man switch, too, of course) to slide a decrepit, disease encrusted train on a set course of track to the next station -- for which he gets damn good pay and benefit package -- and he's fed up? Let's send him to teach some common sense to some poppy farmers in Afghanistan for his vacation instead of to the populace of Bostonia and let someone with some respect for the people who are paying his way take his place. Of course, he obviously placed high in the lottery for his job slot, so some respect must be shown - for the laws of probablity.

I'd be fed up too if I had to deal daily with people who don't respect the yellow safety line or are too drunk to pay attention to it. The train drivers shouldn't have to worry that any second they could kill someone on the tracks.
