The citizen complaint of the day comes from Roxbury, where somebody alerted the city a trash can at Highland Park has been overflowing with bags full of dog waste for more than two months. Complete with photo, in case you've ever wondered what a trash can overflowing with bags full of dog waste looks like.

Make that "overflowing with bags full of dog waste now thawing."
um....
Why aren't people doing this the sensible way, and collect the bags for use as fertilizer?
Dog<>cow
Dogs are omnivores and their waste isn't good for fertilizer. Even herbivores require aging their output before using it as fertilizer.

Last year, during the spring, there was a yard in my neighborhood that looked kind of strange. Before the thaw, it was covered by snow, and I just thought it was clumps of grass that had been tossed around by shovels and other activity. But once the snow was gone, it was revealed as a spread of dogshit from one end to the other.
You should see the ones in Franklin Park
Seriously nasty. I hadn't thought to report them, but will definitely do it now (and have my fellow dog owners/park goers do it too)
