Three-alarm fire rips through Dorchester two-family

Boston firefighters raced to 5 Page St. late this afternoon to battle what turned into a three-alarm fire that destroyed parts of every floor - at one point, fire was blowing out the rear on all three floors.

The bulk of the fire, triggered by a first-floor short circuit, was knocked down shortly after 5 p.m., the Boston Fire Department reports. The department summoned the Red Cross to help the nine occupants find a new place to stay.
