Open-night skating festivities scheduled for Nov. 18 have been indefinitely postponed due to warm weather.
I just checked weather.com for Boston, and the indications are that the average temps will be above freezing until Thanksgiving.
A cooling system under the Frog Pond's concrete slab allows its ice technicians to bring down the surface temp below freezing to build and sustain ice even when the air temp is above freezing.
With a few days in the 40s or, even, 50s and the right mix of no rain and not-too-abundant-sunshine, the Frog Pond ice rink should be up and running soon.
The news wil be broadcast at www.bostonfrogpond.com as soon as the ice is ready for its first skaters of the season.
