Two charged with July double murder in Hyde Park; prosecutors allege drug connection

Boston Police report charging two Mattapan men for the murders of a couple while their young son slept unharmed a few feet away.

Michael Corbin, 32, of Mattapan, was arrested at 9 Creston St. in Dorchester this morning on two counts of murder for the July 26 murders of Billie Kee, 24, and Kevin Thomas, 32.

At Corbin's arraignment in West Roxbury District Court this afternoon, Assistant Suffolk County District Attorney John Pappas said:

Surveying the condition of the apartment, it was apparent that the perpetrators came looking for something. As it relates to Kevin Thomas, it is clear he was known to this defendant. That relationship appears to be rooted in the narcotics business.

Earl Fulgiam, 31, was also charged with two counts of murder. Fulgiam, already in custody at MCI-Shirley awaiting trial on various assault and battery and drug charges out of Dorchester, is expected to be arraigned tomorrow, the DA's office says.

Fulgiam had also been arrested 11 days before the murder on a charge of stealing a rental car in Mattapan.

At the time of the murders, police said it appeared the victims were targeted for a hit - and that there might be two other suspects. Kee was the daughter of a retired Boston police officer.

Innocent, etc.
