Yes, finally. You'll find a plus sign next to each comment now. If you like the comment, click the plus sign and vote that puppy up.

Sweet. Now the Globe/Herald
Sweet. Now the Globe/Herald trolls can come over here and tell us how much they hate our free-thinking ways.
damn
For a second there, I thought downvotes might be possible too. I was kind of looking forward to being UHub's most unpopular commenter (save our two resident racist bigots.)
Don't be humble.
Don't be humble.
Resident racist bigots?
Who are the resident racist bigots? Those who dislike Obama's performance and dislike thugs of all colors? Kind of cheapens the definition of racism, no?
UHub Jeopardy
"I'll take 'The Resident Racist Bigots on UHub' for $.02, Alex."
Alex: "This particular commenter's name has the word "FISH" in the
middle"
"Who is????"
Alex: "Yes, that's right. We already know the answer. I'm going
to award you that $.02 just for participating."
If I could give you a tulip,
If I could give you a tulip, I would ...
Do you get a daily double?
For the third, unmentioned one? Poor left-out Billings!
Lest we forget the not-racist, but misogynist heterophobe who seems to have vanished for the time being.
Thanks Adam!
Thanks Adam!
Looked fine to me before I
Looked fine to me before I logged in for Chrome on WinXP.
If you are not logged in and
If you are not logged in and click on the star, you get a javascript popup with the path to the drupal module and a 403 (Forbidden) error.
Usually it is best to test something before putting it live in three states - not logged in, logged in, logged in as an admin (drupal adds some extra hooks sometimes when you have admin privs)
+1
Working fine for me on IE8. Will report from home and firefox this evening.
Yep, here too
Works fine with firefox 3.6
Only one problem I've noticed
which is that I can't plus the original post.
Actually, Henry...
... there is a "like" button on the original. Almost the same, no?
Suldog
http://jimsuldog.blogspot.com
The Like button is a Facebook thing
Which is good, too, of course :-).
I could do that
We have the technology ...
We have the capability...
...to build the world's first bionic message board!
Can you add a minus sign too?
I'd Prefer It Remain Positive
Do we really want to turn this cool tool into a passive/aggressive flame machine, Ron? I think it's more valuable to be able to toss off a quick "+1" for something pleasing, but let dissenting non-majority opinions be heard without a lazy way to diss those folk. Anyway, a lack of positive votes could be an indicator of dislike, too.
Suldog

Just used my first vote!
based on this phrase "I think it's more valuable to be able to toss off "
Great new feature! ;)
There is a minus option
But I kind of like Suldog's suggestion to try to keep it positive.
Undo option?
I just noticed that I can't "unclick" the plus by clicking it a second time and undoing a vote I might have had second thoughts on.
Think wisely, my young Jedi friend
There's an unclick option, but I'd have to turn off anonymous voting, since otherwise Anon 2 could undo the vote of Anon 1, I think.
Double plus ungood? :-)
Double plus ungood? :-)
Someone is thinking too much.

MINUS BUTTON!
MINUS BUTTON! MINUS BUTTON! MINUS BUTTON!
Not enough hate for you on
Not enough hate for you on the internet?
Error when not logged in, ok when logged in
I tried to like a comment when not logged in and got a 403 Forbidden error in Firefox on Windows. After I logged in, it worked fine.
Logging in
Actually, I'm not bothered by this. What are the pros/cons to requiring that one be registered and logged in to vote?
"Progressives" are all about
"Progressives" are all about not identifying yourself when you vote.
Rethuglicans
Are all about outright lying and distortion in order to achieve their goals. Which include denying people the right to vote.
Example above.
In the words of a certain Dick: Go fuck yourself.
More of that 'new civility' we've been hearing so much about
civility is for civilized people
Anti-democratic shits like you can go to hell.
Plus One
For a well-chosen handle.
You remind me of the people who soiled Adam's previous site.
Voting turned on for anonymi
Sorry, forgot to click a checkbox in the permissions settings.
Pluses of letting anonymous folks vote: More people get to vote.
Minuses: Spambots could run up the totals.
Will monitor that.
They're not spambots
They're Publius! Heir to Madison and Hamilton! Defenders of anonymous discourse! Just ask them!
Too much like reddit
I dunno, we'll see how it goes...
Oh geez...
Great...so now I've gotta go back through 3 years of history and add all my upvotes to my favorite comments!? Man, Adam, you must really hate me. I guess MY weekend plans are all set now...sigh.
like button behavior
One bit of behavioral minutiae: when you like something (click it) your back button will then need two clicks to get you back to where you came from.
My cat's breath smells like catfood.

for cats
Comments stay sequential
I think it's good that clicking the plus sign does NOT make the comments get out of order chronologically.
Chickens laying down with
Chickens laying down with cats?
I've seen it all
Just one more reason to prefer tabbed browsing
I never have to hit the back button.
polls
Does this mean there will be no more polls? :)
I'm the bit of sand that makes the pearl
I hate comment ratings because I always do so bad. OH well, that's the fate of us contrarians.
+1 on the contrary
I'm determined to make you wrong!
(at least for this post)
One of my favorite websites...
...keeps getting better and better. :D
Can't say . . .
. . . I love the + button feature but doesn't really bother me that much. One thing though- I think people shouldn't be able to plus their own posts. Not that many people would- but- if it is gonna be here then it should be as honest as possible.
ooohh! will you now do
ooohh! will you now do "comment of the day?"
You know what else would be nice?
Some sort of a "skip to the next un-read post" option. I feel like I've been scrolling through Eoin's Excellent Adventure for days trying to find the next post with *new* written in read next to the subject line. :}
(And man, I'm going to feel stupid if such a thing already exists, aren't I?)
Control-F
Control-F
Search for "(space)new".
You're welcome. :D
That'll work
It's not perfect (just see how many "new"s there on this page, for example), but it'll save my index finger some scrolling! Thanks!
Only time it doesn't work is when...
....the term New England is used a lot. or New York or New -something else-
For instance
...the next Newstead Montegrande thread.
