Was Roslindale double murder revenge for slaying a couple blocks away?

Wicked Local Roslindale reports that police had been eying Elvis Sanchez as a suspect in a double shooting that left one dead in the Archdale project in June.

Sanchez, 17 and also known as Elvis Castro, was murdered early Sunday along with his mother in their apartment at 3964 Washington St., just a couple blocks away from the scene of the Archdale shootings. A third person in the apartment at the time was also shot, but survived.

Police have maintained a constant vigil outside the Sanchez apartment since the shootings.

So Mr. Sanchez, aka Castro was being "eyed" in a double shooting / murder and still 1000 people "like" his Facebook page? What a sad state of affairs.

Lots of friends popping bottles and smoking weed in his memory.

Do we have to explain this every single time?

Most people learned this in middle school or high school.

He was 17 years old, hadn't been convicted of anything, and was brutally murdered in his mother's apartment, you miserable asshole. Just because you seem intent on dying friendless and alone doesn't mean that this kid need share your misery.

erik g: Actually, tell it to the lone survivor since the other apparently won't be down for breakfast. Calling me a "miserable asshole" while you defend a suspected murderer? I consider it an honor.

Key word in your sentence - "suspected." Until he is convicted in a court of law, where do you get off assuming that he deserves to die and not be mourned by those that cared for him? If I suspect you of having been one of the racist power-tripping asshole cops that followed the Hollywood script of the heavy, does that mean your friends and family aren't allowed to feel anything for you?

How does being convicted negate the fact that all deaths bring up feelings that aren't anyone else's to judge?

Ever seen Shawshank Redemption? When they release Brooks and he has to let his crow "Jake" go did you feel bad for him? When he decides to kill himself because he's been institutionalized all his life and doesn't know how to function in the outside world, did you tear up?

I doubt it. I mean Brooks Hadlen was a convicted criminal...not even a suspected one. You probably pause the VCR and hold a party every time one of the main characters gets killed...except for the warden. That guy was a saint to keep all those ex-human beings in line.

Tell me if I'm getting warm...

But the Facebook comments indicate that this young man and his friends were reminiscing about drinking Hennessy Cognac in middle school and telling the teacher it was iced tea. of course this young man did not deserve to die, but it's pretty clear that he and his friends were on a seriously dangerous path in life.

Really? I can't recall going to a memorial where we DIDN'T share memories of having done stupid things as younguns.

Do I even need to bother explaining that all people have family members and friends, that most people don't get involved in crime because they're terrible horrible human beings, that the decent response to something like this is that it's unfortunate all around, etc.?

Is in the same middle school as this bunch of bad actors, you may feel quite a bit differently. There is a culture of violence out there among young urban kids and I want no part of it.

We are talking about Boston Public School which includes children from many different cultures, backgrounds, etc. My child DID go to the same middle school and was friends with several of these children being addressed here, but my child CHOSE NOT TO PARTICIPATE in such activities, due to my child's upbringing! Without knowing all of the details, I don't quite understand how anyone can Judge this deceased child. I have actually read news articles stating that a different 17 yr old male (not Elvis) has been named and has been arrested in the murder and attempted murder of the 2 victims from the June 5th incident.
This is very unfortunate that this young man and his mother were murdered. If you cannot respect the sorrow and grief other compassionate people have for the deceased, maybe you shouldn't say anything at all. Please just let these people grieve for the loss of their friend or family member! "Only GOD can judge".....
