Who killed the clams of the Wood Island Flats?

Nobody's taken responsibility for a jet-fuel spill last fall that ended a decades-long clamming tradition, the East Boston Times-Free Press reports.

I don't know jack about the Wood Island Flats, and would love to hear from my fellow Bostonians who live in that area whether this is a big deal or not. It seems like a big coverup, but without any context, it's hard to tell.

This was the first I had heard of it, but didn't want to jump and down and rant in case everyone else already knew about it and I was just out of the loop (not only not unheard of, but usually the norm). Looking into it now, but still don't know what the deal is. If it's Massport, chances are....'cause they wear a shit-eating grin...

It is a shame that Massport causes so much pollution to the surrounding communities and even the harbor water quality. It appears this was caused by improper oversight and avoiding responsibility. Massport should be made to pay the clamers and replace the beds, but also install automatic safeguards to prevent such accidents.
