Woman chases cell-phone thief from Mass. Ave. T stop right into the arms of a cop

The Huntington News reports a woman riding the Orange Line around 6 p.m. on Saturday had her phone snatched out of her lap by a teenager as the train pulled into Mass. Ave.:

She ran after him through an exit onto the Gainsborough-Camden Street footbridge where [a Northeastern University police] officer was posted. The officer apprehended the 16-year-old and MBTA police arrested him.

So I guess we now have at least one good purpose for MBTA police (actually, there are quite a few - I'll let you figure out the rest.)

Nope, read again

Sounds like one of those evil colleges is increasing public safety with their tuition. Not the MBTA police, there were probably too busy blocking a bus stop somewhere.
