Worker survives 30-foot fall on Mission Hill

Boston Police report a worker on scaffolding outside the fourth floor of the Neville House on Vining Street plunged 30 feet when a plank from above hit the plank he was on, shattering it and sending him downward. He was taken to Brigham and Women's Hospital and is expected to survive, police say.

Doesn't sound good. I wonder if he was wearing a harness? (yes, it is required, but rarely actually enforced, except via gravitational pull)

Was he wearing a round green jumpsuit and did they find feathers at the scene?

I am glad I wasn't the only one to think of that.

I was by there this morning right after it happened. The guy in the foreground here had been rappelling on the Shapiro Building to the left (cleaning windows) and came down to watch the rescue operation.

So Neville House is one of the high-rises in Mission Park. What were the ladder trucks doing?

No, Neville House is not a Mission Park high-rise, it's a Brigham and Women's Hospital building. Presumably the ladder trucks were there in case any others on the scaffolding needed rescue.

Actually BWH leases the first 3 floors of the building and rest is all residential.

Huh. I did not know that. I've never seen tenants on the lower levels - is there separate access between the BWH floors and the residential floors?
