All it takes is a little extra tap on the accelerator, somebody discovered today. Jason Mihalko was on scene to record this rebuttal to the old nostrum.

Cambridge Police report two people were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries in the accident, which is still under investigation.

Hope there wasn't anyone walking along the sidewalk there.
Looks like they would have had to take a hard right turn- If that gate is the one I think it is, there's no street on the other side of Mass ave that they could have been traveling on..

Actually there were two people hurt. I saw two people lying on the ground when the paramedics arrived. I was quickly ushered past, so I don't know how badly they were injured. But I counted at least 9 cop cars and 4 fire engines, plus several ambulances.

I mean I can kinda sorta see someone very lost seeing the curb cut and trying to turn in there, but to try to turn across the sidewalk while people were walking on it seems really clueless.

"Non- life threatening" injuries can still be very serious, with long term consequences, hope the pedestrians are OK, and just shaken up.

Did they hit anyone on the sidewalk? Or were the people in the car the ones injured?

What did the car hit? That gate has a pop-up security barrier.
