The BU Bell Tower that never was

The Quad takes a look at Boston University's original plans for the land it bought along the Charles River in the 1920s - centered on a skyscraper in honor of local inventor Alexander Graham Bell. Today, if you know where to look at the School of Theology, you can see an echo of the plan - a metal engraving above a doorway of what the tower would have looked like.

...but I guess it didn't get the ringing endorsement it needed to be built. Would it have been called the Bell Bell Tower?

That campus looks a million times better than the crap which was built later on. It's sad that BU never finished building out that plan and instead went on to build the other monstrosities along what has become a semi-surburban strip mall of a campus.
