Careless smoker blamed for two-alarm fire in Roxbury that displaced 10

The Boston Fire Department reports a two-alarm fire raced from the basement to the third floor of the triple decker at 81 Moreland St. late this morning.

Investigators have determined the cause to be careless disposal of a cigarette. Fire started outside on the ground next to house.

Nobody was injured in the fire, which BFD estimates did $150,000 in damage.
