Boycott DD unti the bring

Boycott DD unti the bring back the Cruller!

The ill-named stick doesn't cut it, but more reflects the factory manufactured doughnuts that DD has become.

Run for your liiiiives

Boycott DDs in favor of any place that sells decent to awesome donuts. I'm looking at Twins, Mirror Cafe, Linda's in Belmont and Vernas in N. Cambridge.

ps, are captchas cap sensiTiVe?

Lyndell's

In Ball Square. The Central Square one (dammit) doesn't have donuts, or didn't last time I was there, but the ones in Somerville are ridiculously good.

I stopped patronizing DDs

after the stores I used to frequent would routinely be out of corn muffins and also discontinued selling plain croissants entirely. I don't drink coffee, so DDs never appealed to me on that score.

It didn't work

They're no less patronizing. Maybe you should tell them why they're not getting your money in "Fritalian."

So -- who DOES make really good crullers locally?

Any recommendations?

Couple of places

Heavenly Donuts has a couple of locations up around the Merrimack Valley which are very good. There's also Kane's in Saugus.

Crullers

No place any nearer than Saugus?

Demets

Southern part of Mefuh, Rt. 38 (Mystic Ave.) near the Somerville line.

Gail Ann's Coffee Shop in Arlington

This little hole in the wall on Rt. 60 near Mass Ave in Arlington Center has some amazing breakfast loafs, twists, and doughnuts. Not sure if they have a cruller per se, but they have sticks that are close and taste good. Everything is made in house.
