How to avoid spilling your coffee at a subway stop

Don't try riding your bike up the escalator while holding a cup in one hand. SC reports watching in amazement today as a guy rode his bike down the Orange Line platform at Forest Hills, then tried to ride it up the escalator:

He got stuck at the bottom & spilled his coffee everywhere. ... Got one wheel on and lost control while still on the seat.

Wonder if he's the same guy spotted riding his bike down the Orange Line platform at Back Bay last month.

Well, in that thread from last month, Ron Newman clearly states the guy's motive for riding, not carrying, his bike up the escalator:

The T has a bunch of rules about taking bikes on the T. Some of them are silly and widely ignored (don't carry bikes on escalators) but some are quite sensible (don't ride bikes inside stations)

No doubt another bike person trying to make some kind of meaningless "statement". The stupidity of some people just boggles the mind.

Bike person? What does him being "a bike person" have to do with this? Try another dumb person trying to do something stupid - with a bike.

Please note that this is much less likely to result in significant property damage or loss to human life than him trying to make a statement with a speeding, drag racing car. You probably think the drag racing is cool, though, being an "anti-bike" person.
