Well, did she in fact look like a whore?

she gets caught stealing, and all of a sudden the Chief is a bad guy? Would she be making these complaints if she hadn't been caught?

She's bad if she did indeed steal from the department. He's also bad for resorting to gendered insults. I guess calling a thief a, y'know, thief wasn't good enough?

The chief sets the tone in the department. He cannot be calling female employees "bitch" and "whore", instead he has to use words that describe what actual transgressions she's done, why it's not tolerable, and take appropriate disciplinary action. The chief's choice of words hurt his credibility, authority and ability to lead a department of men and women.

I'd like to see Setti engage, set standards, offer resources and see if the chief and the officer can resolve the problem constructively. If there's no commitment to do so, then Setti's got to do what Setti's got to do. ...I thought unions helped broker outcomes in these types of situations.
