North End Patch reports nobody was injured when manhole covers on Richmond, North and Cross streets began ascending skyward as if moved by an occult hand around 3 p.m.
I tell ya, it never gets old...or less painful.
...here in Southie it sounds like a war zone tonight, with fireworks going off everywhere, and not just a few Roman candles, but massive booms...haven't heard or seen one police cruiser anywhere telling folks enough already..we're going into our third hour of this. I know it's July 4th and all but...anyone else in Southie or other neighborhoods experiencing the same thing?
I was on a late-night bike tour through these areas, last night (Tuesday 7/3), and heard and saw fireworks going off all over the place.
I live in downtown Chelsea, its been awful lately. Fireworks until 2-3am. Of course the cops can't do anything about it... the display are long over before the cops get there.
Otherwise they may be a real annoyance at times like this.
But, hey, maybe these people just had their small children out after 7:30 which is just too late according to busybodies: http://www.wcvb.com/news/local/Fireworks-explosion-injures-11/-/9848876/15394962/-/6lu8os/-/index.html
Had this happened in an MA city, a block of triple deckers would have gone up!
