Marine One buzzes Roslindale

A Sea King helicopter in Marine One colors just buzzed Roslindale for the second time today. Earlier it did a couple of laps around the neighborhood. It flew low enough to shake my house. Presumably this is connected to Obama's scheduled fundraising dash through Boston on Monday.

Thank you!

I heard a helicopter flying so low over my house in W. Roxbury that I really thought it was about to crash or at least land in the yard. By the time I ran out it was blocked by trees so I had no idea what it was.

More like Beggar one!!!!!

More like Beggar one!!!!!

Unlike Romney...

who just prints his campaign funds on the backs of workers laid off by Bain Capital and inks them with their blood and tears. What a businessman!

spare us

The One is appearing at a dinner with the Krupps of Berkshire Realty, owner of 30,000 apartment units. Fifty couples will pay $35,000 per couple just because they believe in good government. (Many of those apartments are rented, constructed, managed and financed with public money.) If you're a communist, good luck and God bless to you but enough with the holier than thou crap about Romney the Capitalist. The Krupps could buy and sell him but they prefer to operate less transparently than one does when one runs for office. The next job I get from a poor guy will be the first. (Even in JP, nothing is really free, someone has to pay for it).

Oh please

The Koch Brothers are there with four-ply every time Romney relieves himself. If you're a fascist, get your best sieg heil ready for Moroney Uber Alles and his absolute contempt for government. He was for universal health care until the donors told him to be against that commie crap. The only Krups Romney would associate himself with are those whose names were etched into the artillery lobbed at Poland for days on end. And no, nothing is free in JP: We're too busy paying our taxes and propping up uninsured anti-govt hillbillies who cost us the price of a mid-sized car every time they're admitted for a simple procedure.

We saw what the GOP did with the ball the last time they got to play with it: Wars they couldn't finish, jobs they couldn't create, entire sectors they couldn't sustain. Awesome. But it's cool. Now everyone's read some Ayn Rand that a college kid threw out once they got an education and realized "I've got mine, so fuck you" is no way to live. Let's let the Libertarians take their swings. I'm sure they'll act with the entire nation's best interests at heart.

What? No one remembers me?

What? No one remembers me?

Why does he have to tie up our city all the time?

Can't we just write Howard Dean in instead?

Last minute time off

The visit for which rehearsal, and all other activities at Symphony Hall, were cancelled. Everyone out at noon, I hear.
Monday night off! Woot!
(Although I must admit there was a little part of my brain hoping, however unrealistically, we would be asked to do the National Anthem for him. That would have been beyond wonderful.)

Not Marine One

It's only Marine One when POTUS is on board.

Thank you! Came here to say

Am I the only person who

Am I the only person who hears at least one helicopter flying REAL low, early AM [1-2AM] on a fairly regular basis in Hyde Park? It flies low enough to cause considerable rattling. I've heard other people in other neighborhoods likewise say they've not only heard but seen helicopter[s] similarly flying very low and doing maneuvers of some type. I know this sounds like one of those urban myth conspiracy stories, but it's true.

Non-conspiracy theory?

Somebody learning to fly a helicopter at night out of Norwood Airport?

@2AM? It's always very

@2AM? It's always very late/very early, usually between 1 and 2AM. I witnessed 2 copters flying in formation towards Norwood/Rt 1 directly above and along the Neponset River also, but that of course could be simply connected to Norwood airport. Other people told me they have witnessed what appeared to be police/military helicopters in their neighborhood, again usually very late/very early, performing what appeared to be some kind of training exercise. These are serious people who don't joke around.

My original theory was maybe sometimes state police fly around low at night with infrared looking for hot spots [growers] or something like that. I also immediately assumed they have something o do with Norwood airport. Who knows.

I don't know how I could be the only one who has noticed; the noise is VERY loud.

Special delivery

They're importing Scott Brown's Everyman Credibility in the dead of night. They wring it out of impoverished Iowans in plasma clinic back rooms.

mystery helicopters

Thanks for fleshing out the presidential chopper hovering over my back porch the other day. Thought POTUS might be rappelling in for lunch and I was lamenting I had not stopped by the Boston Cheese Cellar for provisions. I've heard from people who work in the Longwood Medical Area that medical transport helicopters sometimes deliver wealthy/celebrity inpatients to the various hospitals after hours - much to the chagrin of the Mission Hill/Brookline neighbors. Hovering low along Neponset and SW Corridor might be an effort to keep approach noise confined to a narrow area late at night. I certainly hear the distinctive whine of the larger craft passing by well into the night.

Almost hit Fenway

I was right by the Teammates statue when it came through, it couldn't have missed the Bud sign by more than ten feet. A couple of guests on my tour screamed, even.

Wow

That's not even the most horrific sight at Fenway these days, considering the team's popping champagne for getting to two games over .500. The tourists need to toughen up a bit.
