Tasty Burger withdraws request for license in South Boston

The Boston Licensing Board had scheduled a hearing for next week on Tasty Burger's request for a food-serving license, but the hearing request has been withdrawn. This could mean no Tasty Burger on L Street, or it could just mean the restaurant ran into an unexpected delay and will come back later for a license.

My proposal for a new Tasty Burger location
Belgrade Ave, West Roxbury
Well, someone tore down the
Well, someone tore down the ice cream place, and there's been a plywood barrier blocking off the site. The area behind it is kind of a mess and doesn't seem that big, so I was a little surprised that a burger place was going in there to begin with.
I thought
L'Espalier was going into that location. What happened?
Southie decided it wasn't
Southie decided it wasn't going to get in a pissing contest with JP or BackBay over whom is more smug about haute cuisine.
Delay
They are planning to meet with the community some more before resubmitting their license. I guess people are complaining about the proposed hours (as they do in any neighborhood when anything new opens regardless of what the hours of the place that was there before or any other places nearby; gotta love Bostonians...)

Who doesn't want a couple of burgers
before going to the 24 hour gym?
The Hours
I guess people are upset that they want to be open till 1am. I for one would welcome those hours since the only other option after midnight is Chinese food.
That corner barely qualifies
That corner barely qualifies as residential. The location is between a gas station and an abandoned electrical store.
Maybe having a good burger
Maybe having a good burger joint on L street will get people to notice Wolfies down the street. I swear there has never been more than a dozen people in there at a time.
No loss
UBurger is better anyways :)
Right
That UBurger right down the block at Broadway and K, right? Awesome.
