Police: Man did not handle breakup well

Boston Police report arresting a Northeastern student after, they say, his girlfriend broke up with him, he got good and drunk and then proceeded to stumble and roll down Queensberry Street in the Fenway kicking and smashing car mirrors.

Police say officers responding to a 911 call about vandalism on Queensberry Street found the guy "rolling around in the grass median at the corner of Queensberry Street and Park Drive." They then watched as he struggled up, kick the driver's side mirror on a parked Nissan, then fall back to the sidewalk. They eventually found five other cars with what appeared to be kicked-in mirrors.

Police say that when the officers asked him to explain himself, he allegedly said he'd consumed seven "alcoholic drinks" after being dumped. Police say he apologized for his actions but, of course, by then it was a bit late and he was given a ride to D-4 for booking for willful and malicious destruction of property.

Innocent, etc.

7 days in jail, and a six-month ban from being in possession of alcohol. If he encounters the police again, and is found to have consumed alcohol, one year in jail.

What about restitution, Judge? If I was one of those car owners, I wouldn't feel justice had been done.

Garnish his wages to pay for the mirrors. If he does not currently have wages, I sentence him to pick up garbage on 93.

Why you felt the need to post his name here when I didn't?

Which is one reason why I love my extremely common name.
