Dewey Square scene

Jeff Cutler photographed the scene in Dewey Square on Friday when the Soup Nazi truck drove up to provide the teeming masses with free soup and muffin tops.

"Is that from the Simpsons? I mean, it's yellow."

I know not everyone keeps up with the ICA but really? I fear for our future.

It does bear a striking resemblance to a Simpsons character. The mural is cartoonish... it'd be more appropriate near the Children's Museum. Something more urban and sophisticated would have been nice. Just my 2 cents.

It's a shame that the ICA didn't brand the mural better so people would actually go see the exibit.

It's a 15 minutes walk/two Silver Line stops away and admission to the ICA is free on Thursday nights (and worth every penny). I guess it's a bit of a promotion fail.

You realize the mural is almost directly across the channel from the Children's Museum, don't you?

It's in Dewey Square which is kind of sort of near the Children's Museum but it's also right down the street from the ICA. I'm a fan of the ICA so my thoughts would naturally go there.

I do agree that the ICA could have introduced Brazillian artists who are completely obscure in the US better. The ICA seems to always miss the mark somehow.

There are still cherry pickers stationed there. They may yet put their "brand" on it or an arrow and some info.

Point an arrow at some angle that doesn't actually lead to anything in particular.

Or put up a sign that makes no sense, "Eat at Joe's" (bonus if in Portuguese).

It's not close by, sorry. No one associates Dewey Sq. with children.

removed from teen years but I thought the same thing when I first saw it. Definitely looks like a Simpsons character.

Nothing to indicate a connection to ICA.

Just past the plaza-ish thing on the Greenway. It's by a pair of Brazilian artists who have a show at the ICA. I think it's just paint.

I'm really liking how the artists managed to use the structure's odd shape as part of the art - they didn't have to do anything to the structure for his round head, for example, because that part of the building was already that shape.

some shock jock in Florida to pick it up and claim those socialist people from MA painted a terrorist on a building to worship.

It's already been posted on the Fox News Facebook page, with expected results. :( http://bostinno.com/2012/08/04/giant-painting-in-b...

I have a couple of those - They emerge from their cells around noon of a Sunday and terrorize the pantry and plunder the refrigerator. Funny how I often either lose one or acquire extras on weekends and school holidays.

Way too hot a day for that! But the truck did have big black-and-white pastries, Junior Mints, and a few other candies.
