They already have nonstops to several west-coast cities, where other airlines only fly direct to LA and SFO. I've been using their Boston to PDX and Seattle nonstop flights for years, as have a number of the academics who come to meetings where I work.

Alaska has had flights up and down the West Coast for a couple decades. They seem to be directly competing with JetBlue on all these routes.

One of Willard Romney's homes (the one with the car elevator)is located near San Diego. So my first thought was that this was being done for his benefit. But Willard himself and each of his children must have private jets at their disposal, so I guess it's unlikely.

And the president has Air Force One at our expense. What's your point?

On price. And get TV's in there too.

why airlines force you to pay to carry your bags (which nearly all passengers need for their trip), but then give you access to TV programs (which NO passengers need for their trip) at no charge.

Plus, in flight entertainment systems drain power, which resultws in greater fuel consumption and is potentially hazardous as well(witness the Swissair flight that went down due to an uncontrollable fire that started because the electrical wiring overheated and shorted out thanks to the "necessary" in-seat TVs).

Weight from baggage and passengers consumes far more fuel than a few tiny LED tv screens.

Which is why I'm flying them nonstop to SFO and not Alaska in a couple weeks.

That, and the screens for the teen who's hitching along on the business trip for April vacation.

The last time I took JetBlue out of Boston, I figured I'd save myself some trouble and check a bag, since it was free.

But the bag check line took almost half an hour, which cut things pretty close when combined with the really slow security line.

This reminded me why experienced travelers didn't check bags even before these fees existed.

Took a Boston Seattle round trip last month and did not like it. The boarding process is silly, people without carry-ons go first, but that is not enforced. Nor is the limit on the size and number of carry-ons. The food was awful, fortunately we had asked at the desk if meals were served and were warned to bring our own. I really do not like it when airlines do not allow one checked bag at no charge.
