Literally: The power at the station went out around 9:45 p.m. At least one person is stuck in an elevator; the T is readying some bustitution.

Does the station have functioning emergency lighting?
Why can't the elevators have an emergency mode that gets them to the nearest floor and opens the doors, either under battery power, or (preferably) by gravity with no power at all?
