All in the family: Brother of South Boston murder suspect now also charged with the murder

Gabriel Sanchez is scheduled for arraignment in South Boston District Court today for his alleged role in the murder of a man at the entrance to Bell's Market on Dorchester Street on Sunday, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports.

Sanchez is the brother of Elias Sanchez, who was arraigned Monday for the murder of Edwin Santos, 29. His nephew, Elias Sanchez's son Ariel, is also charged with the murder, in which police say the three beat Santos before stabbing him so many times their arms got tired.

Elias Sanchez was arraigned in a bed at Boston Medical Center, where he is recuperating from stab wounds inflicted by a friend of Santos in an effort to stop the attack.
