The company that provides bus service for Boston public schools is investigating a report of texting while driving by one of its drivers this morning.
The investigation began after CreatineAvenger tweeted this morning:
bps bus driver MS163 texting while driving with children on bus.
That was between 9:30 and 9:45 a.m. on Longwood Avenue by the Mass. College of Pharmacy.
This afternoon, a BPS spokesman issued a statement:
Veolia Transportation Inc., the BPS transportation vendor, is currently investigating the complaint, and as part of that investigation will interview the bus driver. The bus, MS163 starts at the Back Bay and Fenway and drops off at the Tobin School. It was traveling along Longwood Avenue at the time of the alleged texting incident. The operator has been removed from service pending the outcome of the investigation
