Cabbie who seemed to mistake Berkeley Street for a demolition derby no longer behind the wheel

Smashed cabs

The city reports the Boston cabbie who plowed into a Brookline cab at Berkeley and Chandler streets late Wednesday "has already had his licensed suspended and is in the process of being revoked."

The note comes in response to a citizen complaint about Boston cab drivers:

Very concerned about the city's regulation of taxi drivers who would race recklessly up Berkeley Street last night to catch a fare. This could have been a large loss of life as many were pouring onto the streets after the Red Sox Game.

And it comes the day after the mayor's office released a report on improving Boston cab service that included a recommendation to crack down even more on out-of-town cabbies trying to pick up fares on Boston streets.

...is still roaming the streets. Guy hit me with his door, pushed me off my bike, threw my bike into the middle of the road, and drove off.

BPD took a report and that was that.

If it makes you feel any better, I'm sure this guy is still roaming the streets, too.

Sorry to hear about your horrible run-in with this particular cabbie! That cab driver should be tried and charged with assault/battery, taken off of the streets and put behind bars immediately! Let's hope that comes to pass, for your sake, and that of other people, including cab drivers, before he not only ends up giving other cab drivers a really bad name, but before he seriously injures or kills somebody!! He's a real danger to the public and needs to be taken off the streets, and out of the cab-driving business....now!!

He'll be back on the road in a week.

A cabbie once swerved into my lane to make a turn, forced me into oncoming traffic and right into the potentially-fiery side of a gasoline tanker. I thought I'd go complain to the cab company as I got his cab medallion number. The guy I spoke to offered to file a report *for me*. At first I thought he was being sarcastic, but then he went on this rampage about how he has to hire "every damn idiot with a hack license who walks through my door", and he'd be happy to have "one more crazy driver off the street". I kinda left it at that.

Oh yeah, I'm sure he gave a flying fuck about the dam idiots driving his cabs.

Never complain to the cab company. The offer to a file a report for you was to keep any report from being filed with the police.

I would've called the police, no questions asked. That schmuck of a cab driver who acted like he was in the Demolition Derby sounds like he should've been taken out of the cab driving business and off the streets ages ago!
