Cambridge faces ratpocalypse
By adamg on Wed, 10/23/2013 - 7:22am
Cambridge Day sounds the alarm.
"We have unleashed the fury," City Councilor Ken Reeves warns, in a story illustrated, of course, with a photo showing "the size of a dead Cambridge rat compared with an adult man’s foot."
Mike the Mad Biologist, who, as a Back Bay resident, knows something about rats, was amazed by what he saw in Central Square last night::
Saw one last night ~8pm scampering around in the open by City Hall. Big one too. Definitely could beat up Back Bay ones.

Be nicer to your hawks!
Seriously, maybe it's time to get a conservationist in to make Central Square rooftops more appealing to hawks and other birds of prey. Those red-tailed hawks are good ratters.
Noticed it too
I saw a big one too last Friday. I was leaving Izzy's, a PR food joint north of Central Square.
Driving past the public housing projects, my car almost hit one. I was surprised how big it was. Even though it's near the projects, I've never seen vermin up that way.
Didn't realize the problem was city wide now.
