Citizen complaint of the day: Ban Boylston big balls

Giant Christmas ornament on Boylston Street

A displeased citizen turns into an anti-Angus Young when it comes to big balls on Boylston Street:

Christmas ornaments left on the side of the road blocking traffic on the sidewalk and causing cars to slow down and look.

well it looks like someone doesnt celebrate Christmas.... dont stress about the small things in life lady/man, there are much greater things that should be concerning you such as why you complain so much. might be a bigger issue like depression or anger issues. easy there brother/sister

stressing about small things would've been a good approach for this complaint

You can see where the office building/hotel/whatever's property line is by where the cement sidewalk joint is.

Those Christmas ornaments block nothing: there's a wide expanse of walkable area there. What a Grinch!

... was snarky.

Isn't this right at the Boylston St. entrance to the Pru mall (Apple store across the street)? Right in that little (otherwise dead-space) plaza where the large Christmas Tree goes?

There must be a pool at City Hall for the nuttiest CitizensConnect complaints each week. The intern that opened this one might win, but it is only Friday.

Of course, smaht phone users are prone to crash into these difficult-to-see obstructions. However, I find that stepping on the ornament hook for these is the real killah.

... lurking inside ... waiting for passers-by and inquisitive children ...

Humbug.

Anything that spruces up that waste of underused prime real estate - namely the outdoor 'court' outside the Pru along the Boylston Street side - can only be a good thing. And you guys really need to calibrate your snark radars.

That alone is worth it.

I mean, its also pretty and kind of nifty, too ... but the more wind breaks in that area, the better.

The wind would probably whip right around the curved space.

Luckily lots of people break wind all over town, all by themselves.

Since it's near the food court, you can be sure there's a lot of wind breaking down there.

Whatever it is that's driving me to add this comment, it must be driving me on a Highway to Hell.

"....there for it is not on city property.."

Wow, write much Cityhallperson?

"It it" makes sense.

don't put on such a stodgy "Frount"

Often it's a trend to make reports just to see what terrible English the closer will reply with. It's very insulting that no one catches this. Is this the state of college graduates getting these jobs?

There [but] for the grace of god go we... :)

That last sentence is hurting me.

Sorry - it had to get said.

Except maybe for this one. Didn't you see the upcoming show on Syfy?

We got STONES! Not balls.

"Christmas ornaments left on the side of the road..."

The complaint makes it sound like someone forgot to grab this one when he was bringing the ornaments down from the attic.

up

Or that someone's trying to use it to save a parking space. Which would be a pretty ballsy move.

HA! Love it!

"Oh, THERE'S my giant ball!"

Heaven knows what might stick to it.

I'm so tired of bland, boring, whiney yuppies (especially the lame Gen Y crowd) and long for the flavor and diversity that they replaced!
