Corner building

Mystery Boston building

Another mystery building from the folks at the Boston City Archives. Can you figure out when and where the photo was taken? See it larger.

Dorchester Ave

I can't read the whole thing, but the sign on the corner seems to say:

[BRIGHT (?)] BUILDING WRECKING CO
[SOMETHING] BUILDING MATERIAL
NEW PLUMBING
[NNN] DORCHESTER AVE [SOMETHING]

A higher-resolution scan might make it easier to read the words & numbers I can't make out here, but it's a wrecking company on Dot Ave, anyway. That ought to narrow things down for the right archives search.

Building wrecking = wrecked building

If it has a sign on it advertising a building wrecking company, it may be because that company is soon going to start wrecking that building....

Don't be fooled!

Don't be fooled by the sign on the building - its an advertisement rather than a street address. This may or may not be on Dot Ave.

Same building but earlier?

The tumblr photo shows an awful lot of damage to windows, and adds an electrical transformer to the utility pole, which BTW seems to have strolled around the corner while it was waiting.

Pre-graffiti

Things look way cooler when they're just decrepit and not covered in crappy tags.
