DA: Chinatown travel agent booked people on flights to China that didn't exist
The owner of a Chinatown travel agency is scheduled for arraignment today on 14 separate larceny counts for allegedly pocketing money for bookings on non-existent flights, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports.
Linda Do, 57, of Dorchester, owns Olympic Travel, 65 Harrison Ave. Prosecutors charge bilked more than a dozen customers, some over the age of 60, which means potentially higher penalties.
Earlier this month, Olympic got two negative reviews on Yelp, both alleging this practice:
This is a horrible business! STAY AWAY! This apparent travel agency books a supposedly cheaper deal to china for their customer, but they are actually stealing your money!
They book the flight and give the traveller an itinerary. Then they cancel the tickets and pocket the cash. The traveler either gets stopped in the US and they can't even board the plane. Or, they are stuck in china and they have to pay again for a new ticket.
Innocent, etc.

It would be interesting to
It would be interesting to hear how long she thought that she would have been able to keep this up.
Crime is easy
Getting away with it is hard.
But yes, good point, this seems to be a swindle with a short expiration date.
Linda, D'OH!
Or .. Linda, DON'T
Scams in Chinatown
People seem to fall for a lot of scams in Chinatown. Remember that one from a year or two ago when people were allegedly being "hypnotized" to hand over their life's savings?
