Dorchester Chinese take-out place briefly becomes drive thru

A Dorchester man will be arraigned on an OUI charge Monday after he backed into the Cantonese Restaurant, 6 Hancock St. in Dorchester around 7:50 p.m. yesterday, Boston Police report:

Officers spoke with the owner who stated that a car backed into his restaurant. Officers located a male still on scene, who stated through an interpreter, he was the operator of the motor vehicle (four door sedan), that collided with the building. He refused medical attention. The male operator further explained “he was trying to Parallel Park and he hit the gas and backed into the store”. Officers observed the operator to have glassy eyes, an odor of alcohol and was unsteadiness on his feet.

Alberto Lopes, 54, was then arrested, police say.

Innocent, etc.
