Harvard Christian group deletes blog post calling Jews Christ killers who deserve everything they've gotten over past 2,000 years

The Globe reports on the apology by a Christian student group that had posted an essay, allegedly by a Jewish convert to Christianity, about how his former co-religionists really suck and, yeah, the Holocaust was part of God's plan.

In the apology, the Christian Ichtus writes:

The writer holds nothing but love for his heritage and feels very deeply for the welfare of the Jewish people. The blog was not intended to communicate animosity, but concern and a sincere desire to communicate the necessity of salvation through Jesus Christ alone.

While the Ichthus does not take any official position besides the Nicene Creed, Christianity has long taught that everyone is responsible for the death of Jesus Christ insofar as we have all sinned - all people at all times everywhere; Jew and Gentile alike - and that we all must repent and accept him as our Lord and Savior. Targeting this message at a particular group of people as though they are uniquely responsible misconstrues the generally accepted teaching of the Christian church, as well as the intentions of the author.

Talking Points Memo has more on the deleted post.

To his credit, the author, who called himself aJew, did not also accuse Jews of poisoning wells or using the blood of Christian babies in Passover rituals.

They should also be aware of the capitol of Canada, but quite a few clearly are uninformed as the video demonstrates.

This is just WHO Harvard has been admitting for the last 350 years. Just think of that jolly, laugh-a-minute Mather clan from back in the day. And remember, you can always tell a Harvard man. But you can't tell him very much.

the necessity of salvation through Jesus Christ alone.

Once you have that arrow in your quiver, the rest of the crazy flows naturally.

I might or might not be a born again Christian because I went through a really bleak time in my life and those people seemed like they cared and wanted to help me out of that place. The funny thing is that the guy at the dunk tank is supposed to ask you to repent right before you go under the water but my pastor forgot. We'd joke about how we hoped my baptism "took."

Long story short, I slowly figured out that they were a bunch of intolerant a-holes who pushed me away whenever I dared to ask why. I got the worst nastygram to end all nastygrams from my former pastor telling me that if I wanted to talk to him, someone else would always have to be in the room. Why? Because I dared to ask questions about the Bible and some passages I thought were questionable.

As it turns out, the baptism didn't take. Thank the universal powers that be.

I also thank the Universal Power that this baptism did not work out, and by Universal Power I'm referring to God. When I say this to you, it is out of love because a baptism cannot make you Holy like some magical trick. If you were to go around thinking that yo were saved by Baptism then how could you know the true meaning of what Jesus did for you on the cross. You see there is only one way that you can be saved and that is through Jesus. When you really come to know the love of God then you will be baptized in a way that is unquestionable and pure and true. Water is not even needed for this to happen... only Love.

Where else but in religion could you find acceptance in the idea that the innocent are allowed to pay the penalty of the guilty?

In the financial collapse of 2008?

If so, it would follow that the bankers worship us.

I've spent enough time in Christian churches of all flavors to know the language this guy is using. I almost feel bad for him because he just doesn't know any better. You'd think that going to Harvard would open his mind and he'd learn a little history and a little comparative religion but it hasn't.

If you want to know how people like this are made, watch the movie Jesus Camp. It's the scariest thing you'll ever see.

This guy sounds like a real nutcase, but he's certainly smart enough and old enough to know better. The fact that something like this could get published in the first place is way beyond belief....and a total disgrace.
