After the almost holy rendition of the Star Spangled Banner last night at the Garden there were various attempts at a USA USA chant then and during the game. Most fizzled.
The biggest chant was We Are Boston. Somebody held up a Massachusetts flag and people cheered loudly.
B's fans for the most part know the dynamic which is playing out.
Let's stop the yahoos in their tracks. We owe it those who come to this country who just want to be Americans like you and me.
I am a season ticket holder who sings the anthem at every game. It was good to have some company for a change. I got goosebumps. That being said, I did not partake in the USA chants. Seemed pretty likely that these would turn out to be murderers from the USA. We are Boston just sounds too much like that We are Farmers insurance song. I like Let's Go Boston. Makes it about supporting the city (not just the Bruins.) The xenophobic rage that happens is so misplaced and misguided and proves that, no matter what happens, stupid people will continue to act stupidly.
Howie is all over the "dark skinned" aspect of the suspects.
Of course one had to love Carr's first reaction to the bombing on the air:he had his producer book him on that night's "O'Reilly Factor"! I didn't see it, can anyone tell me if he mentioned his latest book while people were having legs amputated?

Let's Make It Stop

Git r dun
Next time I see a "white male in his thirties wearing dark sunglasses," I'm going to punch him. One of them probably did the bombing anyway.
You kinda wish you could
You kinda wish you could rewind the tape and switch out the 8-year-old kid for this nutter. What a loser.
Ugh, stuff like this makes me
Ugh, stuff like this makes me sick. She was with her infant daughter, too! Utterly heinous.
Another caller to the Chump Line steps up!

Howie should be careful
Howie sounds Jewish and you know those Jews and all ... weren't there a lot of them on the blacklists? Must be something to that!(/snark)
White hat guy
Looks mighty Jewish to me. Just sayin'...
I make it a point to be extra friendly
To people I see who I assume are wearing Muslim headwear. I assume they get a fair share of grief so I try to play ambassador a bit.
And by extra friendly I mean for Boston. I'm not fawning over them or glad handing. Maybe just a smile or nod.
I do it with others as well, like the elderly. A kind word or gesture or simple greeting goes a long way towards making people more at ease.
France has banned the Hijab
Most moderate and secular Muslim women look at it with distaste.
That said, I hope the woman is alright. This BS should be nipped in the bud. And Malden is very diverse, Too bad.
