Looks like Turkish Airlines is getting ready for direct service between Logan and Istanbul - five flights a week, starting next May (report's in French, but easy enough to get the gist).

+100 For This Anonism
Wow, all these years and I never figured it was a cover. TMBG has so many odd songs and this one is just a natural fit.

Guess we missed it
We went to Turkey this past May via Turkish Air, non-stop would have been nice.
Travel hint: Don't even think of renting a car in Istanbul. No, we didn't either, but just watching the traffic and the *ahem* competitive driving was bad enough.
My favorite memory of traffic
My favorite memory of traffic in Istanbul was jumping off the sidewalk in front of the Sublime Porte to make way for a car that had driven up onto it because it had to avoid a trolley coming the other way (on a part of the road that was restricted for trolleys). It was nice of the driver to slow from 50 to 30 to give us a sporting chance.
