MBTA Transit Police Broadway

UPDATE: Transit Police report they've identified the suspects and will seek criminal complaints against them. One's 21, the other's 18, and both are from South Boston, police say.

Transit Police report they are looking for these yahoos for kicking in a window and tipping over one of those bomb-resistant trash barrels just for the apparent hell of it at Broadway station on Sept. 27.

If only more and more T stations had large flat screens where these criminals could be plastered, so that thousands of riders could see them as T police search for them, as opposed to a Twitter feed which has a few hundred followers.

As far as I can tell "attendants" no longer exist. It's been ages since I've seen a Customer Service Attendant (who when the T put in Charlie Card turnstiles were promised to be on duty at all times) at Shawmut, Ashmont, Stonybrook or Jackson. I've seen a few at Forest Hills but nowhere else.

Here's a protip, guys: buy a video digitizer. They cost about $10-20 and plug into a USB port on your laptop. Or maybe next time you buy a surveillance system that costs tens if not hundreds of millions of dollars, ask: "can we export video to any common formats?"

If they'd have dropped that barrel on their toes. I mean, they did come close, and it would have served well as "natural consequences" and all that.

If they had pushed the 400 pound trash can down the stairs it would have killed several passengers. I see the comment where one was stolen why are they not bolted to the floor.
