Man found dead in running car in Mattapan

In what might be the day's second snow-related carbon-monoxide death, the Boston Fire Department reports firefighters found a dead man in a running car outside 57 Woolston St. in Mattapan.

The department says nearby residents told firefighters who arrived around 4:20 p.m. that the man had been sitting in the running car since 11 a.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene; police are now investigating. The victim was in his 20s.

Earlier in the day, a boy died of carbon monoxide poisoning after taking refuge from the cold in an SUV with an exhaust pipe blocked by snow.
