Mattapan man put away for life for raping, murdering woman who was here to get medical care for her son

A Suffolk Superior Court jury today convicted Eldrick Broom, 29, of first-degree murder and aggravated rape for the 2011 death of Rosana Camilo, who came to Boston from the Dominican Republic to obtain medical care for her young son, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports.

A judge immediately sentenced Brook to the mandatory sentence of life without possibility of parole.

While her son was being treated at Children's Hospital, Camilo, 34, got an apartment at 50 Fairlawn Ave. in Mattapan. Broom, also a resident, somehow managed to get into her apartment, where he raped and then strangled her. Her son, 1 at the time, was left unharmed in the apartment.

They should pull out his fingernails and toenails as part of his sentence. And repeat, each time they grow back in.
