Not so fast there, B Line riders

Every other Green Line branch is now back to normal operations following the fiery wire problems at Copley, but not the B, due to a dead train switch problem at Blandford, which means continued bustitution between Babcock and Kenmore.

UPDATE, 1:10 p.m.: B Line back to normal operations.

T Alert about this. It states "switch problem", not "disabled train".

A "disabled train" and a "switch problem" at the same time is usually code for minor derailment.

only disabled train reported in the alerts was on the E line, not the B line.

yes, except we have an eye-witness above who photographed/saw a "disabled train" at the switch. I went by on a shuttle bus around the same time, saw the Green Line carhouse maintenance truck parked at Blandford St., and an army of people in orange vests looking very carefully at one of the wheels of the trolley in the photo. Looked like it was off the track, but not by much.

then they were awfuly quite about it on the Green Line dispatcher's frequency (which I was monitoring at the time due to the Copley wire problem).

And, once again, the T alert system is giving the passengers mis-information by management not admitting they derailed a train. Not that I'm surprised, but perhaps we need to re-evaluate the need for (and wasteful expense of) this frivilous system when trains keep derailing and overhead wires keep breaking.

No need to publish warnings about the B line stopped in its tracks & taking hours to get anywhere-- that's normal operating procedure.

Write to or call your state reps and senators. There is a conference committee on transportation funding ongoing. Tell them how important it is to you for the MBTA to function properly and efficiently.
