Brookline animal-control officer injured in pursuit of 'aggressive' turkey

Brookline Police report that around 2:45 p.m. today, Animal Control Officer Pierre Verrier was dispatched to Short Street to deal with one of the town's notorious terror turkeys:

As the officer was existing the vehicle the vehicle started to roll backwards down Short Street towards Beacon. The vehicle knocked the officer to the ground; he was able to radio for help. Officers responded, saw the officer down on the street and the vehicle resting against the side of the building on the corner of Short Street and Beacon Street, a short distance away. Several parked cars had been struck before the vehicle came to rest. The officer was taken to Beth Israel Hospital, where he is undergoing a series of test. Preliminary reports are no serious injuries.

Short Street? More like Short Bus! Either someone forgot to put it in park or someone else didn't go a good job of maintaining the vehicle.

I'm convinced that this wasn't a case of a numbskull officer not knowing how to safely operate a vehicle - no can't be that. It MUST be a terrorist turkey attack! One of their rafter must have snuck into the car ... it just has to be so!
