Police say one of the two North End robbers turned himself in; second captured not long after

Boston Police report that around 8:30 p.m., Richard Puopolo, 27, called police from Cleveland Place in the North End, looking to turn himself in for a series of convenience-store robberies over the weekend.

Police obliged, took him in and charged him with unarmed robbery, armed robbery and possession of Class E drugs.

Around 10:30 p.m, police say, officers on patrol in Chinatown noticed a guy who looked a lot like Puopolo's companion in the robberies. Carlos Venable, 43, was then arrested, police say.

Innocent, etc.

Maybe they should have worn masks? Seems pretty dumb these days not to, news had nice HD photos of the guys!

are most likely homeless. Wonder how they blew the $ ?

Maybe Puopolo wanted a nice, warm cell, food, etc. for the holidays. Don't blame him, it's getting nasty outside.

Not homeless. The kid went to Umass Amherst and works at a well known restaurant on Hanover Street.

Did he show up with drugs on him? That wouldn't be very smart. I guess robbing a multiple stores isn't smart either
