Red flag in morning, citizens take warning

The National Weather Service says dry air and gusty winds are enough for a dreaded Red Flag Warning about brush-fire conditions in eastern and central Massachusetts:

A RED FLAG WARNING MEANS THAT CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS WILL OCCUR SHORTLY. ANY FIRES THAT START MAY SPREAD RAPIDLY AND BECOME DIFFICULT TO EXTINGUISH.

The warning is set to expire at 5 p.m.

decided to make a loud DINGING noise at 4:45 this morning, to alert me to the red flag warning.

I'll be sure to not dream about matches.
