Roxbury man charged with shooting Prentiss Street man dead over earlier argument

Devone Suber, 27, of Roxbury, was ordered held without bail today at his arraignment on charges he murdered Maiqi Hernandez and shot a woman inside 41 Prentiss St. on May 3, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports.

Suber was actually arrested shortly after the shooting on a charge of illegal ammunition possession; police then dug up enough evidence to charge him with the double shooting.

According to the DA's office, the two had had an argument inside the building, where Maiqi lived, earlier in the evening. Suber went home, got a gun, came back, opened Maiqi's door and shot him in the chest, the DA's office says, adding that when he was arrested nearby on Annunciation Road, he had 45 rounds of ammunition on him.
