Stabbed mother now denies ex held her down while new flame stabbed her repeatedly

The Herald reports on today's arraignment of Daquan Sparks, 19, on a charge of assault with intent to murder for his alleged role in a stabbing attack on the mother of one of his babies by the mother of one of his other babies.

Prosecutors are sticking by what they said was the victim's initial statement to police. Dorchester District Court Judge Rosalind Miller set bail at $75,000; the Suffolk County District Attorney's office had asked for bail of $500,000, based in part on what they said was a criminal record that goes back to when Sparks was 10.

Alleged stabber Samia Jones is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail.

Innocent, etc.

So I work at At Home Real Estate located at 109 Savin Hill Avenue and right before the stabbing, the assailant was sitting in a car right outside our office. It looked like she was with another women. Everyone in the office knew something shady was going on like they were doing drugs or something like that. This was around noon or so.

I then left the office for about two hours and during this period that was when the stabbing took place. When I returned the police had already been there and left. The only people there investigating was WBZ TV who was interviewing Joe Conway who owns Savin Scoops, the ice cream shop where outside of it, the victim after being stabbed collapsed onto a chair.

That new account, Sparks’ lawyer argued, jives with his version of event.

Did they really use "Jives" there?

The word should be "jibes" - common error. P.S. I live right near the crime scene, and for anyone without the knowledge, this is a gorgeous neighborhood....

Sounds to me like Daquan's account had a lot of jive to it.

Where's the outrage? Shouldn't we be putting more restrictions on liars and knives?

So you know she was "lying" and not trying to hide bf's role in the escapade?

Yeah, because all women are liars who are trying to get men in trouble. QED. Not that either world is possible (she's lying or she's been threatened).

whats with the racist anon trolls lately? You really going to allow that in the discussion sections?

What racist comments? How is it racist to point out this heinous crime? Maybe the racist is the person who forgets that the victim was also black. Are you suggesting we be less outraged because the victim wasn't Caucasian?

anon² was saying that these sort of racially-charged trolls were getting more common recently. I think he's right (although I also think that the word 'racist' is too broadly applied here - 'bigotted' is more accurate). Probably an unavoidable side-effect of the site becoming more widely known.

If the forum allowed votes down as well as up, and let users filter out comments below a choosable threshold (ala Slashdot et al), I think you'd see most of the trolling behaviour die from starvation.

But...Adam is a journalist, not a code jockey. So we may have to just grin and bear it until that MacArthur grant comes in (knocking on wood, Adam!)

Love to see it implemented.

Also, just maybe not green-light the offenders comments, unless they want to tie it to a registered name.

There really is non need to sockpuppet anons to spew god knows what. If it relevant, yes approve the comments, but so much is just obvious trolling and baiting.
