Yes this would be amazing. With over $1,000,000 A DAY in revenue the MBTA makes they could run limited one track service while the other track gets repaired. Oh I forgot the maintenance workers don't maintain much of the tracks at night. They play video games and watch movies in the secrete rooms hidden in the tunnels and rail yards.
They can charge double the fair. That would be fair. If they just started with Friday and Sat till 3am that would be great.
Not holding my breath. I think the taxi lobbyist in Boston will squash this before it gets anywhere. or all the taxis might sue the MBTA.
Those were employees of a private company which still managed to continue turning over profit with its contract despite a couple employees making a hideout in a corner. It was found and cleared out.
Tell me of a single room in a tunnel where there's worker playing video games. Also, please explain how much the GPS tracking will cost (and how it will work underground), how it can be so accurate as to tell you what rooms they're in within structures, and how much it will cost and how much it will save.
Anyone goofing off should be promptly fired. But you're demonizing the entire workforce of the MBTA with wild accusations which are committed by a few at most, if at all.
