Two-alarm fire races through Mattapan three decker

Firefighters rushed to 742 River St., near the Hyde Park line, where a fire reported around 7:30 p.m. went to two alarms.

The Boston Fire Department estimates damage at $250,000 and that the cause is under investigation. The Red Cross is assisting 11 people made homeless by the fire.
