Looks like Warby Parker, which undercuts chain prices on prescription glasses through its online store, is looking to set up a physical store in Boston.

Not their first Boston outpost
They used to have space in Stel's on Newbury St. I stopped by there when I was on a glasses hunt about a year ago. It's not listed on the W-P website anymore, however.
Mostly Pleasing News
I have two Warby Parker Glasses. I have absolutely no regret in buying them. I decided to go to them as the typical glasses shop would charge at absurd prices while I need to try out the glasses that those websites that sell even designer glasses at absurdly cheap prices can't do.
Then I found Warby Parker which offers designer level quality without the price. Not as cheap if I buy from coastal.com (which I occasionally see an ad even from Uhub), but I actually get to try them out. Unfortunately the next shop is in NYC, but I manage to fit that in one of those visits (FYI, this occured an earlier trip than the one where I asked UHubbers on how to beat that Blizzard and when a ticket to NYC was still $15 bucks).
So I am glad they are opening a shop here. I might not need to buy any glasses anytime soon, but I do like their shop and brand.
