Well, whadaya know, those deer-crossing signs in Stony Brook Reservation are there for a reason

We live in the largest city in New England, and yet, around 10:15 a.m., I had to hit the brakes to avoid plowing into a buck bounding across the Dedham Parkway near the entrance to Georgetowne in Hyde Park. Antlers and everything.

Tom O'Gara reports he saw one on Enneking Parkway around 1 a.m.

Arboretum has some resident deer. I've never seen them, but you can see signs of where they have slept.

was on peter's hill getting close to dusk a couple years ago - they were walking across the path near the commuter rail tracks...

There are also coyote in the arboretum - and during the winter they come into the surrounding neighborhoods looking for food. They'll kill smaller dogs and will eat cats.

Perhaps we could seek an alliance with our Deer brethren to fight against the trespass of humans.

I can see the Pru and Hancock towers from my property ... and so can the deer that sleep in my back yard in the winter.

I got video of a 3pt Buck bounding through my back yard last fall.

I think they are either on the rise or being pushed toward humanspace by resurgent coyotes.

I was coming from Dedham one evening. I came around the corner to see the stoplights of a car. Then I saw the deer. Then another.

I'm always paying attention at that spot nowadays.

My sister almost hit a deer on Allendale Road a while back.

I see deer and turkeys in the Stonybrook pretty often. Last night, I saw a big, healthy coyote off the side of the road right by Turtle Pond. If this link works, here's a GIF of a deer with a nice rack in a clearing right off the Enneking.

I can hear the Old Colony commuter rail go by. Saw a buck in my field this morning looking for doe, of which there were none at the corn feed, unusual. The robin hoods are out there shooting, so the buck would not respond to my urging to come closer. He just moseyed around, and he shrewdly worked the sun angle so i couldnt get a good picture. I gave up , he went back to the woods.

I once saw one running down the middle of Washington St in Brookline at 3 in the morning, as well as a fox on Rt. 9- Not to mention all the killer turkeys

Scientists (and hunters) agree that we're seeing the start of what is referred to as The Rut right now. It's deer mating season, so you're going to see lots of bucks following their noses, looking for the future ex Mrs. Buck, and not paying attention to anything else. Especially your Honda.
