What a Basshole

Basshole

Kara photographed what happens when a boat falls off its trailer, in this case on Morton Street just past Blue Hill Avenue on the way towards Dorchester around 6:20 p.m.

Hey basshole, have fun getting thousands of dollars of fiberglass work done. Why didn't he just use the correct ties? It really isn't that hard.

Notice how there aren't any tie-down straps in the photo?

Yeeaaaaaaah.

Please tell me the driver was charged with failure to secure the load...or did we call this an "accident"?

If you roll the boat on rollers to get it ON to the trailer, you need to use these things called straps or other securing mechanisms to keep the boat on the trailer when you hit the accelerator as hard as you hit the throttle in the no wake zone.

The one on the freeway shown below looks more like a "didn't check out the trailer specs before lane weaving at 80 mph on itty bitty tires".

In a single lane? Yet another ration rant by Swirly

OK, anon & 3 likes - let's reread the "lane weaving" comment:

"The one on the freeway shown below looks more like a 'didn't check out the trailer specs before lane weaving at 80 mph on itty bitty tires'."

Note how that's NOT referring to the boat in Boston, and IS referring to a boat off its trailer on a 6-lane interstate highway (via the WCVB link posted by Eighthman).

Though, come to think of it, I don't see a single-lane road in either case - note the double yellow lines and 2 sets of dashed lines to one side in the Morton St. picture, so that appears to also be a 6-lane road, albeit not a high-speed one. Google satellite view indicates 4-lane.

First, we had the after-Labor Day Truck on the Storrow pool, and now... we have the after-Memorial Day Boat on the Road pool!

This is about how much good judgement and thoughtful foresight that most motor boatards use on the water, too.

At least they make them register boats and bust them for drunkies sometimes ... but it is otherwise the wild west on the water around here since nobody has to learn anything to have one of these stupid things.
